Allan Andersen has been part of the Conversational AI journey since 2015 when he joined Amelia. He is responsible for Amelia’s Cognitive and Autonomic solutions. In this capacity, he leads the company’s product marketing, product management, documentation and education strategy. Before joining Amelia, Allan worked at CA Technologies and was responsible for product management and strategy across several solutions, including endpoint, cloud and datacenter automation. Allan earned a M.Sc. in Economics at the Copenhagen School of Business.

Allison Gaw is an experienced life science and drug development business professional with 15+ years in business development and strategy, commercial market research, data and financial analytics, and project management. She most recently was VP of Business Development at Chinook Therapeutics. Previously, she held senior roles in IP, Business and Corporate Development at Sierra Oncology and Arbutus Biopharma (formerly Tekmira) in Vancouver. Before moving to Vancouver in 2013, Allison was a consultant for numerous life science clients on the West Coast (US) for Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and LEK Consulting. Working in the interface of science and business, she has a passion for driving the advancement of promising life science research and technologies towards development and commercialization to make a difference for patients and doctors..

Allison has a B.S. and an M.S. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, and an MBA in Health Care Management from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

Angelina is an entrepreneurial product leader that is originally from Toronto and graduated from Queen's Commerce.

After graduating, she co-founded a data Software-as-a-Service company, growing it to 12 employees, and 7-figures in recurring revenue and was a founding member of a non-profit that helps University students find internships in Asia - Cansbridge.

Currently she works at Facebook as a Product Manager, and helped launch the new virtual reality headset (Oculus Quest 2), as well as child and teen safety products across all apps, including Instagram. Prior to that she also worked at Shopify.

Now she lives in California, between San Francisco and Los Angeles, and in her spare time enjoys travelling, outdoors, skiing, and teaching Product Management.

Inmar Givoni writes fiction. She also mentors ventures, consults on AI, advises boards, and is a speaker and organizer of conferences on AI, tech leadership, and women in tech, She was a Director of Engineering at Uber, leading delivery of self-driving cutting-edge deep-learning technology into production. She received her PhD (CS) in 2011 from UfoT, specializing in ML, and was a visiting scholar at Cambridge. She is a patent inventor and authored top-tier academic publications in ML, computer vision, and computational biology. She is interested in outreach activities for women, and has been recognized as one of Canada’s 50 inspiring women in STEM, Canada’s Tech Titans, and Forbes Magazine’s Women in AI.

Dr. Vivienne Ming explores maximizing human capacity as a theoretical neuroscientist, delusional inventor, and demented author. Over her career she’s founded 6 startups, been chief scientist at 2 others, and launched the “mad science incubator”, Socos Labs, where she explores seemingly intractable problems—from a lone child’s disability to global economic inclusion—for free. As the co-founder and Chief Scientist of Dionysus Health she applies machine learning to lessen the corrosive health effects of chronic stress in communities. She also develops tools for learning at home and in school and TBI, models of bias in hiring and promotion, and neurotechnologies to treat dementia, an outgrowth of her research at UC Berkeley's Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience. In her free time, Vivienne designs AI systems to treat her son’s diabetes, predict manic episodes in bipolar sufferers, and reunite orphan refugees with extended family members. For relaxation, she writes science fiction and spends time with her wife and children. Vivienne was named one of “10 Women to Watch in Tech” by Inc. Magazine and one of the BBC’s 100 Women in 2017. She is featured frequently for her research and inventions in The Financial Times, The Atlantic, Quartz Magazine and the New York Times.

Elizabeth graduated from the University of Toronto in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Its Applications for Teaching, and a minor in Computer Science. During her time at UofT she worked and volunteered in roles based around math education, and pursued a software development summer internship at TD Securities. Elizabeth returned to TD full time after graduation, where she is currently a Senior IT Developer with full stack responsibilities and is additionally leading UI development for internal web applications. Apart from enjoying coding and teaching, she likes indoor rock climbing and crocheting.

Patrick is an engineering manager at Pinterest. His team uses machine learning to extract shopping content from merchant websites. Prior to that he was an ML Engineer at Amazon and Zynga. He has a bachelor's in Computer Engineering and master's in Statistics from the University of Toronto.

Azadeh is the Head of CPG industry partnerships at Pinterest Canada, where she and her team partner with top brands to discover how Pinterest can help them meet their ambitious business goals and inspire Pinners to create the life they love. Prior to joining Pinterest, she spent 8 years at Google in a number of progressive leadership roles across sales and marketing, and has spent time as a brand marketer at General Mills and Kraft. Azadeh began her career on the agency side, and in 2008 she earned an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. When she's not thinking about digital marketing, she's mom to two munchkins, and is currently saving ideas on the latest short hair styles and basement remodelling inspo on Pinterest.

Charlotte believes that every successful search for great talent starts with a solid sourcing strategy. Having begun her career in talent research and sourcing for an Executive Search firm, she has since gained experience in sourcing, full cycle recruitment, and market intelligence for startups, corporate, and tech. Today, Charlotte is driving international expansion and talent intelligence at Pinterest for the engineering organization, and is the company’s first ever sourcer in Canada.

Jennie is a 4th year student in Engineering Science at the University of Toronto. She did an internship at Pinterest last Summer and will join the company full time in San Francisco as an engineer after graduation.

Tina graduated from UofT with a specialist in CS and a major in Statistics in 2021. Tina is currently doing her masters in CS at Stanford and working on research in the Stanford AI Lab with Professors Fei Fei Li and Ehsan Adeli. In the last two summers, Tina interned with Google on the TensorFlow Extended (TFX) and the Shopping Ads teams. This summer, Tina will have her third summer internship with Google on the GCloud GCP team.

Stephany Lopez is a tech community leader and software developer from South Texas. She has experience at various tech companies in software engineering, developer advocacy, program management, and is an incoming Product Management Intern at Adobe. Driven by her passion for accessibility and equity in computer science education, Stephany founded PyLadiesRGV and is a Google DSC Student Advisor, where she aims to empower developers and communities to build impactful products.

Hey! I'm Param Gandhi, a junior at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I am a software engineering intern at DataChat, a startup founded in Madison. The platform is trying to simplify data science by allowing you to "talk" to data in natural language. Kinda like Siri + Excel. I am studying computer science and have a background in full-stack development and data analytics. Apart from academics, I'm into formula 1 racing and music. Megan Landau is a Software Engineer at The Walt Disney Company working under the Advertising Platforms team. While Disney is well-known for its movies, theme parks, cruise lines, and of course, Disney+, few people connect Disney with being a technology company with many roles where custom software products support all of the daily lives of the 200,000+ employees worldwide. For the past three years, Megan has enjoyed learning the ins and outs of Java, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, Gitlab CICD, and many other tools, languages, and frameworks. With a background in literally everything except computer science, Megan’s talk will discuss her journey to where she is now and how being flexible and open to change helped her find her way to a career that she loves.

Stephanie Wong is a Developer Advocate at Google Cloud. As a speaker, writer, and architect, her mission is to blend storytelling and technology to create remarkable online developer content. She is the creator of the Google Cloud Youtube series Networking End-to-End, Discovering Data Centers, and Eyes on Enterprise, and the host of Google’s Next onAir broadcast. Before Google she helped businesses implement cloud technologies at Oracle. Born and raised in San Francisco, Stephanie’s active in her community, supporting women in tech and mentoring students.
